Conductor, Musical Supervisor and Coach
Ratan Julian Jhaveri was born in Gronau/Westfahlia. After his musical education in Cologne he studies German and Italian literature, archaeology, pedagogy.
Besides his work as an actor and assistant director at the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus, he directed the musicals "Little Shop of Horrors" and "Linie 1" and worked as Musical Director for the German version of "Beauty and the Beast".
Using his skills as pianist, conductor and coach, he was engaged for "Sunset Boulevard" in Niedernhausen, "Les Miserables" in Duisburg before he attained the position as Assistant Musical Director for "Les Miserables" in Antwerp.
As Assistant Musical Director he gained experience in the first Stage Entertainment production "Elisabeth" in Essen, "Les Miserables", " 3 Musketeers" and "Dance of the Vampires" in the Theater des Westens in Berlin. 2005 he undertook the Musical Direction for Disney's " Beauty and the Beast" in Oberhausen and in Berlin. For the TV Casting Show "Ich Tarzan, Du Jane" he acted as Musical Coach.
2008 Ratan was asked to set up "Beauty and the Beast" in Russia as Musical Supervisor, followed by "Beauty and the Beast", Milan, Italy.
Last year Ratan was writing the arrangements for the Song "Belles forever" for the Ceremonies of the John-Kraaykamp Musical Award handed to Alan Menken, for 5 Belle-performers from 5 nations. Ratan founded and heads his own agency for musical theatre artists. www.agenturshanti.de
